FAQ & Troubleshooting

Start with the symptom on screen. For a full first run, use the audiobook example or CUE album example. If files already exist, check Processing history and keep successful outputs and sources before retrying. The interface is Chinese, so the actual messages are quoted.

Sign-in and sessions

尝试次数过多，请一分钟后重试 ("too many attempts; try again in a minute") Too many wrong passwords triggered protection. Wait a minute and retry; if you forgot the password see Changing the password.

请先更换初始密码 ("change the initial password first") This applies to the administrator's first password sign-in. Follow First administrator sign-in. Ordinary NAS sign-in through the current gateway does not require the administrator to change that password first.

操作会话已变化，请刷新页面后重新确认 ("the session changed; refresh the page and confirm again") Your sign-in state was updated elsewhere (password change, sign-out). Refresh the page and sign in again.

退出失败：…请重试 ("sign-out failed … please retry") Click retry; until it succeeds the app still shows you as signed in.

使用 NAS 登录 times out or cannot read an account Make sure the app was opened from the fnOS desktop (not an old bookmark) and click 重新读取 (Read again). If it still fails, sign in with the administrator password and check the app version.

NAS sign-in still asks for administrator binding or an initial password change Check the installed version. Current versions confirm the NAS identity and enter as an ordinary account; password changes and administrator association are management operations. Ask the device manager to upgrade an older installation.

此 NAS 身份已解除绑定 (this NAS identity was unbound) This identity previously belonged to the app administrator. Unbinding does not automatically recreate it as an ordinary account. Sign in with the administrator password to manage that association. Other NAS users can continue ordinary sign-in.

管理员数据不可用 ("administrator data unavailable") on the sign-in page The app's own data is damaged or missing. Do not delete or edit app data files yourself; the device owner should restore a data backup, or contact support.

Folders and files

A folder does not appear in the list

• New folder: click 选择飞牛目录 (Choose fnOS folder) at the gateway entry to grant it; the direct port can only browse already-granted folders.
• Granted but gone: the grant was revoked or the account lacks permission — grant it again at the gateway entry or click 刷新目录 (Refresh folders).
• 当前飞牛用户没有所选目录或文件的读取 / 读写权限 ("the current fnOS user lacks read / read-write permission for the selected folder or file"): give the account the needed permission in fnOS File Management, or choose a folder it can use. Ordinary NAS accounts can also confirm sign-in; system-administrator status neither replaces folder permissions nor grants the app administrator role.

目录未授权或授权已撤销，请重新选择 ("folder not granted or grant revoked; choose again") The folder's grant was revoked between operations. Re-grant it at the gateway entry and continue.

单个目录超过 10,000 个项目，请选择更小的目录 ("over 10,000 items in one folder; choose a smaller one") Spread the audio into subfolders, or pick the subfolder that holds the audio as the root.

不处理符号链接 ("symlinks are not processed") The selection contains a shortcut / symlink. Choose the folder that holds the real files.

音频在读取前 / 读取过程中发生变化，请重新选择 ("the audio changed before / during reading; select again") Another program was writing the audio while it was read. Let the write finish and select again; the app never continues from an unstable file.

Chapters and tracks

The M4B has no embedded chapters Switch 切割方式 (Cut mode) to 固定时长 (Fixed length), enter the minutes per segment, then click 重新读取 (Re-read), or 应用切割方式 (Apply cut settings) if an analysis already exists, to generate segments, then adjust start/end in the table to the real chapter positions (see no embedded chapters). The app never detects plot-based chapters.

找不到 CUE 引用的音频 ("cannot find the audio referenced by the CUE") For an initial check, place the matching CUE and audio in the same granted folder and check FILE. An automatic-match warning still requires auditioning to confirm the same album. See How the CUE maps to audio files.

Garbled Chinese in the CUE Switch CUE 编码 (CUE encoding) to UTF-8 or GBK and click 重新读取 (Re-read), or 应用切割方式 (Apply cut settings) when a previous result exists — see CUE encoding problems.

曲目起止时间越界、倒序或长度不足 ("track start/end out of bounds, reversed, or too short") Check start < end, at least 0.02 seconds per segment, end within the audio's length. Time format HH:MM:SS, e.g. 00:10:30.500.

同一音频的曲目存在重叠或乱序 ("tracks of the same audio overlap or are out of order") Neighboring cut points cross. Fix start/end and preview again.

Hard to verify cut points Use audition (up to 8 seconds from the entered start, or to the segment end if shorter) and the timeline colors (unchecked segments are dimmed).

Tasks and output

预览并切割 (Preview & Split) does nothing or is rejected A greyed-out button means a requirement is missing. Check in order: input and output folder chosen, at least one chapter / track checked, book or album name filled, and — if you just changed the cut mode, minutes per segment, or CUE encoding — 预览并切割 stays greyed out until you click 应用切割方式 (Apply Cut Settings) (a banner appears when the license is not ready). If the button is clickable but the action is rejected, the error banner at the top says exactly why.

预览已经执行或失效，请重新预览 / 预览超过 30 分钟 ("preview already used or expired / preview older than 30 minutes") Output previews are kept for 30 minutes. After that, click 预览并切割 (Preview & Split) again.

这段音频没有内嵌章节… / 预览已失效，请重新选择音频 ("no embedded chapters / preview stale, select the audio again") Chapter previews are session data; a restart or newer analysis can clear an older result. Select and read the input again; this resets edited names, cut points and selections, without deleting existing outputs or history. If no chapters exist, explicitly choose fixed length as described above; repeatedly reading does not create embedded chapters.

A split fails / partially completes Open 处理记录 (Processing History), click the task, and read the per-file reasons. Common causes and fixes:

输出曲目长度与章节不符 ("output length does not match the chapter")	The source encoding is unusual; disable 原音质直切 (direct copy) so it re-encodes, then retry
音频编码器不可用 ("audio encoder unavailable")	Pick a different output format

已有 4 个任务在等待或执行 ("4 tasks already waiting or running") Tasks run one at a time with a queue limit of 4. Wait, or stop a running task.

Where did my task go after a service restart It is marked 处理曾中断 (Interrupted); completed files are kept. Redo the remainder — see After a service restart.

Does stopping lose files? Completed files remain and cancellation does not undo them. Normal cancellation cleans temporary files; abnormal power loss can leave partial files. Wait for termination and inspect per-item results — see Stopping a task.

Licensing

授权未就绪 (License not ready) or 402-style errors The administrator can open 授权中心 (License Center) at the top right and refresh. Ordinary NAS accounts without that entry should contact the app administrator. Follow Common messages. Running tasks stop but written files are kept.

Trial expired Processing becomes available after the app obtains and verifies a valid credential and shows activation, not merely after payment. Existing output files are unaffected.

Service and network

暂时无法连接服务 ("cannot reach the service right now") Click 重新连接 (Reconnect). If it keeps failing, check in the fnOS App Center whether the app is running, or restart the app.

引擎未就绪 ("engine not ready") in the sidebar The audio engine has not finished initializing. Click 重新检查 (Re-check); if it persists, restart the app, then contact support.

试听服务繁忙 / audition fails Wait a few seconds and click audition again; if it keeps failing, re-read the audio.

The direct port 8692 is unreachable / port conflict reported Use the port chosen during installation (default http://NAS-LAN-IP:8692/) from a device on the same LAN. If the port is occupied, enter a free one under fnOS 应用 → 配置 → 新的访问端口 (App → Configure → New access port), save, and restart this app. Other services are never stopped. The gateway URL stays the same; both entries are unavailable while this app has failed to start.

Access from outside your LAN Use an HTTPS reverse proxy you manage yourself; never expose the plain HTTP port directly (see Direct port).

Feature boundaries

The current version does not provide the following — do not look for buttons for them:

• Merging audio, speech-to-text, automatic chapter naming, music metadata scraping, vocal/instrumental separation.
• Downloading audio from the internet; processing DRM-encrypted M4B / M4A.
• Fixed-length splitting of a CUE album (CUE splits by tracks).
• Web registration, member management and role editing. Ordinary NAS job records are scoped to their accounts; output-media visibility still follows NAS folder permissions.
• Audio backup, one-click restore or automatic reassembly into the original. Sources stay read-only; app-data retention depends on the actual uninstall choice. See Upgrade and uninstall.

If nothing above helps, contact support and include the task status from 处理记录 (Processing History) and the exact message text.
