fnOS Install & Directory Access

Install Track Factory on your fnOS NAS, grant it access to your media folders, and learn about the two access entries and where your data lives.

The app interface is in Chinese; on-screen labels are quoted so you can follow along.

Installation

  • Requires fnOS 1.2.0401 or newer.
  • In the fnOS App Center, manually install the package matching your NAS architecture:
    • x86_64: Intel / AMD devices.
    • aarch64: ARM64 devices.
  • Read and accept the User Agreement and Privacy Policy shown by fnOS; cancel installation if you do not accept.
  • Set 访问端口 (Access port) in the installer. The default is 8692, with a range of 1024–65535; choose another port if it is occupied.
  • Confirm the current NAS account through the fnOS entry to open the workspace. First use needs neither the administrator password nor an administrator binding.
  • Administrator maintenance credentials are generated in 文件管理 → 应用文件 → leelaa-audio-split → bootstrap-admin.txt (File Management → App Files). This is readable Chinese text labeled 用户名 (username) and 初始密码 (initial password). Only the first administrator sign-in requires changing that password, which removes the file. The installer does not ask for a password.
  • The audio engine is built in — no FFmpeg or other components to install.
  • Before installing, check Downloads for candidate availability, version, and architecture. The Changelog lists what each version implements.

The two access entries

Direct porthttp://NAS-LAN-IP:8692/This app's administrator account and passwordBrowsing granted folders and running splits

The table shows the default port, 8692; use the value chosen during installation. To change it, open fnOS 应用 → 配置 → 新的访问端口 (App → Configure → New access port). Leave it blank to keep the current value; restart the app after saving. The gateway URL stays the same.

Both entries share the same data and task history. Sessions confirmed with an NAS account are gateway-only; password sessions work on both entries when both are opened with the same host name/address. Signing out or changing the password ends sessions on all entries.

Choosing input and output folders

The app only reaches folders you explicitly grant; it never scans other NAS locations.

  1. In the workspace click 输入文件 → 浏览 (Input file → Browse) or 输出目录 → 浏览 (Output folder → Browse).
  2. In the folder picker click 选择飞牛目录 (Choose fnOS folder); the system folder picker opens — pick a folder and confirm the grant.
    • Input: choose the folder holding the audiobook or album, then pick the M4B / M4A or CUE file in the app's file list.
    • Output: choose a save location; the output picker also lets you 新建文件夹 (create a new folder) directly.
  3. When the gateway is opened from a separate browser (outside the fnOS desktop), folder selection redirects to the fnOS authorization page and returns to the app automatically; if the page sits longer than 5 minutes it says 目录选择已过期,请重新选择 ("folder selection expired; choose again").
  4. The left list shows granted folders; output folders shared with the app carry the 应用输出目录 (app output folder) badge. Click 刷新目录 (Refresh folders) to update.

Permission rules:

  • Source folders need read permission only; output folders need read and write.
  • Every operation re-checks the current user's folder permissions with the system in real time; revoking a grant rejects further operations immediately, and revoked folders disappear from the list.
  • Ordinary fnOS users and system administrators can both confirm sign-in, and receive ordinary app accounts by default. Folder lists follow the current user's real ACL; processing history is scoped to the app account. Administrator association is explicit. Being a system administrator never automatically grants app management rights.

Upgrade and uninstall

  • Upgrading keeps the administrator account, password, NAS binding, license state, folder grants, task history, and written files.
  • When uninstalling, check the fnOS data-retention option. Retained data can be reused after reinstalling; deleting app data clears the corresponding local account, configuration, and history. The app uninstall script does not actively delete source audio or media outputs. Keep a license backup or the original account recovery method first; see License recovery.
  • Change the administrator password in the fnOS 应用 → 配置 (App → Configure) wizard; leave it blank to keep the current password (see Admin & NAS Sign-in).

Data and privacy

  • All audio processing happens on your NAS; media content is never uploaded anywhere.
  • Source files stay read-only: the app works on an internal read-only copy and re-verifies sources before writing; it never modifies, moves, or deletes your original audio.
  • Administrator and ordinary NAS account records, licenses, and jobs live under App Files → leelaa-audio-split → data. The readable initial-administrator text lives in the app folder root. Restrict access and keep backups. Existing installations keep their data location and identities; the old JSON bootstrap is converted to readable text.
  • Output files go to folders you chose and are visible under fnOS 文件管理 → 应用文件 (File Management → App Files).
  • Opening the License Center talks to the license service only to verify purchase, trial, or activation state — never about your audio content.

Version status

The package has not been released through the fnOS App Center. Check Downloads for availability; actual capabilities depend on the installed version and its Changelog. For problems see FAQ & Troubleshooting or contact support.
