Album CUE Splitting

Split whole-track albums — one audio file containing an entire album — into individual songs using a CUE sheet. The app reads album title, artist, track names, and INDEX 01 start times from the CUE, so you never have to locate tracks by hand.

The app interface is in Chinese; on-screen labels are quoted so you can follow along.

Before you start

  • For your first run, place the CUE and its whole-track audio in the same granted folder (input needs read permission; the output folder needs read and write permission).
  • Referenced audio can be FLAC, WAV, APE, MP3, M4A, M4B, OGG, OPUS, AAC, or AIFF.
  • The CUE file itself is at most 2 MB with at most 1,000 tracks.

Example: one whole-track album becomes three files

This is example data showing the folder relationship and output. Select your own matching files when following the steps:

text
Example album/
  示例专辑.cue
  示例整轨.wav
  cover.jpg ← optional cover

The CUE's FILE entry should refer to 示例整轨.wav. For a 12-second source with INDEX 01 values 00:00:00, 00:04:00 and 00:08:00, titled 开场, 午后 and 归途, expect three tracks of four seconds. The final CUE field is frames, at 75 frames per second: 00:04:00 means four seconds.

Keep all three tracks and choose FLAC in the workflow below. The preview should show 确认输出 3 个文件 (Confirm 3 files). A successful run creates 示例专辑_job-id/ containing 01 - 开场.flac, 02 - 午后.flac and 03 - 归途.flac, plus cover.png if cover art is available. The original WAV and CUE remain in their source folder.

Without a matching CUE, switch to Audiobook Chapters, explicitly choose fixed length and edit generated cut points as needed. This tool does not infer track boundaries from the sound.

Full workflow

  1. In the left sidebar under 音频工具 (Audio Tools), choose 专辑分轨 (Album Split).
  2. Click 输入文件 → 浏览 (Input file → Browse), enter a granted folder and select the .cue file (the list shows only CUE files). The app starts 读取音频 (reading the audio) and verifies every referenced audio file.
  3. Check the track list: album, artist, each track's name and start/end times; uncheck tracks you do not need.
  4. Click 输出目录 → 浏览 (Output folder → Browse) and choose a save location.
  5. Under 输出格式 (Output format) at the bottom, pick a format (default FLAC · 无损 (lossless)).
  6. Click 预览并切割 (Preview & Split).
  7. In the 输出预览 (Output Preview) dialog, check the file list, tick 确认输出 N 个文件 (Confirm exporting N files), then click 开始切割 (Start Splitting).
  8. The result screen shows the output path and file count; see Processing History for per-track results.

Checking and editing tracks

After reading:

  • The table columns are the same as for audiobooks: checkboxes, number, track name, start, end, duration, and audition. The track name decides the output file name and title tag; edit it inline.
  • Above the table you can edit 专辑 (Album) and 艺术家 (Artist) — both go into the output tags — and see the first audio file's codec, sample rate, and cover.
  • The album name comes from the CUE title or file name. If cleared, fill it in before previewing.
  • The timeline at the top draws each track to its real duration; click a segment to audition.
  • Audition plays up to 8 seconds from the currently entered start time, for verifying cut points; the clip is generated quickly and does not sound like the final output.
  • Searching only changes visibility, without clearing other selections. The header checkbox selects/deselects the whole album; check the total selected count.
  • Start/end times are editable with the same rules as audiobooks: start before end, at least 0.02 seconds per track, within the audio's length, no overlap or disorder within one audio file.

How the CUE maps to audio files

These rules help with unusual CUE sheets:

  • Start points come from each track's INDEX 01; INDEX 00 (pre-gap) is never used as a cut point.
  • End uses the next later CUE track referencing the same source audio; if none follows, it uses that source's actual end. Content before the first INDEX 01 is not exported separately. INDEX 00 is not a separate track or cut point, so retention of all leading gaps is not guaranteed. Audition beginnings and ends.
  • One CUE can reference several audio files (multiple FILE blocks). An audio file referenced multiple times is read once; each track's range is calculated within its own source file, rather than treating all sources as one concatenated file.
  • FILE references are resolved as relative paths (relative to the CUE's folder). Valid subfolder-relative paths can be read within the granted scope without symlinks. Absolute paths, drive letters and parent traversal (..) are not followed, but an unusable reference may still fall back to the same-folder matching rule below. Check any warning before continuing.
  • When a reference cannot be found: the app tries to match a same-named audio file in the CUE's folder, ignoring case. If exactly one matches, it is used and a notice appears at the top of the page: 原引用「…」不可用,已匹配同目录文件「…」,请核对音频 ("the original reference … was unavailable; matched same-folder file … — please verify"). If nothing or more than one matches, the task fails; the app never searches other folders blindly.
  • Only TRACK AUDIO entries are supported; CUE sheets containing other track types (such as MODE1/2352 image tracks) cannot be processed.
  • CUE times use MM:SS:FF (75 frames per second); the page converts them to HH:MM:SS.milliseconds.

CUE encoding problems

Garbled Chinese track names mean the CUE file's actual encoding does not match its declaration:

  1. Switch CUE 编码 (CUE encoding) from 自动识别 (Auto-detect) to UTF-8 or GBK / GB18030.
  2. Click 重新读取 (Re-read). If a previous analysis succeeded, changed settings make it read 应用切割方式 (Apply cut settings). Click to apply the encoding and regenerate the list. Re-reading resets edited track names, cut points and selections; check them again before continuing.

If auto-detection fails the app says CUE 编码无法识别,请另存为 UTF-8 ("CUE encoding not recognized; save as UTF-8"). Re-save the CUE as UTF-8 in a text editor and pick it again.

Output results

  • Files are named 01 - Track Name.flac (number + name + extension).
  • Characters not allowed in file names (/ \ : * ? " < > | and control characters) become underscores; very long names are truncated; track names cannot be empty and must be completed before previewing. Deselecting tracks preserves their original list numbering; selected tracks are not renumbered from 01.
  • Every file carries title, album, artist, and track-number tags; when a cover is available it is also saved as cover.png — see Output formats & files.
  • The original whole-track audio stays read-only; everything is written to a new folder and existing files are never overwritten.

Limits

  • Fixed-length splitting is not available for CUE input — a CUE always splits by tracks.
  • No online album info or metadata scraping: covers come only from embedded art or a cover.jpg / folder.jpg / cover.png next to the audio.
  • The app cannot verify that a CUE really belongs to its audio: if the timeline looks right but content is shifted, verify track by track with audition.
